Alma's Obituary

Alma “Loretta” (Evans) Yelderman, “Mom and Granny”, passed away peacefully, in her home on February 26, 2021. She was 82 years young. She was a resident of Georgetown for the last 39 years.

Loretta was born to O.O. “Hub” Evans and Emma (Weems) Evans on January 8, 1939, in Brazoria County, Texas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Yelderman; both her parents; and her brother, Billy Evans.

Loretta and Charles were married in Houston, Texas, on September 17, 1965 and were parents to three sons: Gregory Yelderman, William “Bill” Yelderman, and Scott “Scottie Pie” Yelderman and his wife, Jessica of Laredo, Texas; daughters, Angela Long and husband, Carl of Katy, Texas, and Tabetha Neal and husband, Wesley of Georgetown; grandchildren: Travis Dozier and wife, Carrie, Bill Dozier,  Terracina McAdams and husband, Joshua, Michael Salvo and wife, Amanda, Teresa Yelderman, Donna Martin and husband, Chadwick, Kristelle Yelderman, Alyssa Yelderman, Eddie Yelderman, Samantha (Neal) Watkins and husband, Cody; great-grandchildren: Gavin, Kaylie, Jazmine, Tyler, Brianna, Bentley, Annabell, Khaleesi, Emmalyn, Brianna, Wyatt, and Brian. Along with her beautiful and large family, Loretta leaves behind numerous friends who loved her dearly.

Loretta graduated from Wharton County Junior College. She worked in office management with Prudential and other places of business until her retirement in 2003. She was  a member of Strickland Grove Church of Christ. She also found great joy in playing bingo and trying her luck at the lottery countless times. Granny finally won the biggest lottery pot of all and is now celebrating life everlasting in Heaven.

A private family service was held on Friday, March 5th, 2021 and Mrs. Yelderman was laid to rest next to her husband at the Central Texas State Veteran Cemetery in Killeen, Texas.
